Ces images sont réalisées à partir des archives photographiques de Nabil Boutros d’Égypte et devant lesquelles il a placé une grille de mots arabes en écriture kufique orthogonale. Ces mots antagonistes, entre promesses et menaces, forment des grilles, labyrinthes ou moucharabiehs et entravent la vue des images.
These images are made of Nabil Boutros Egyptian archives. In front of them, he placed a grid, made up of Arabic words and written in the orthogonal Kufic script. These words are Antagonist between promises and threats – in the shape of grids, mazes, or wooden lattices – hamper the vision of images.
