Reality Is Soluble In Images

is an intervention in public spaces seeking to provoke an awareness of the manipulation of  images and by the images. Their rapid spread and exchanges through social networks results in an insatiable consumption, without distance or reflection. The media is not exempted. Sophisticated techniques are not needed to alter the meaning of an image: a different comment or cropping can accomplish this.

Specifically, ads looking like advertisements are displayed on 3×4 m billboards or smaller. Several models of posters are offered, all of them have a newscast background of a fictional channel. On each poster template, a highly publicized photograph is reproduced four times with four different captions. In front of these posters on the streets, interviews were conducted with passers-by. They were asked what they thought was true in the poster, from the captions and if they trust images from printed media, web or social networks. A short video was compiled afterwards.
