Pour l’exposition “36/36, les artistes fêtent les congés payés” j’ai souhaité mettre en abyme quelques images d’archive décrivant ces corps « joyeux » avec une succession de manipulations photographiques, aussi bien pour les remettre en lumière que pour mesurer le temps qui passe.

Mon point de départ a été la vision d’un corps «libéré» à travers les images de reportages photo et les « actualités » cinématographiques des grèves et les films réalisés durant cette période relatant les congés et les activités de plein-air. Je me suis demandé quelle était la vision qu’on a du corps aujourd’hui à travers différentes publications.

Body Check

For « 36/36, artists celebrating paid holidays » exhibition, I wanted to create a mise en abyme of some archive images describing these « happy » bodies by a succession of photographic manipulations, as well to bring them back to light and to measure the passing of time.

My starting point was the vision of a « liberated » body through images of photo-reports, « news » strikes films and the movies made during this period describing holidays and outdoor activities. I wondered what was the vision we have today of the body through various publications.
