La méditerranée, mer médiane
Aborder le thème de la Méditerranée nous permet de réfléchir à notre passé, mais surtout à notre avenir, car cette mer a été traversée par les grandes civilisations de l’histoire humaine, devenant un point de rencontre et de confrontation tout en constituant un pont d’échange et d’intégration entre elles.
Cette région nous oblige donc à réfléchir à son avenir social, environnemental, politique et culturel et, partant, au destin des populations des trois continents qui font face à cette mer.
Un accent particulier est mis sur les thèmes de l’environnement et de ses transformations dans les sociétés impliquées, traversées par des phénomènes complexes explorant leurs valeurs communes sur une base partagée. La mer dont nous parlons n’est pas seulement un lieu physique, mais un lieu spirituel et un nœud problématique : une grande métaphore de la condition humaine.
Le projet est structuré en différentes initiatives et comprend une exposition d’artistes contemporains internationaux de différents pays de la Méditerranée.
Mediterranean, The Middle Sea
Addressing the theme of the Mediterranean allows us to reflect on our past but mainly on our future, because this sea has been fruitfully crossed by the great civilizations of the human history, becoming a meeting and confrontation point and yet an exchange and integration bridge between them.
So this region is obliging us to think of its social, environmental, political and cultural future and consequently the destiny of the people who live on the three continents facing this sea.
A particular emphasis is given to the themes of the environment and its transformations of the societies involved, crossed by complex phenomena exploring their common values on a shared basis. The sea we are talking about is not just a physical place, but a spiritual one and a problematic node: a great metaphor for human condition.
The project is structured in various initiatives and includes an exhibition of international contemporary artists from different countries along the Mediterranean.
